Claire at 4 months

I thought I would put a couple of pictures of Claire up. She is growing up fast and it has been fun watching her during the day. She rolls over now and laughs at the weirdest things.

4 Month Immunizations

So, Claire went in for the good ole immunizations today. Call me crazy but I didn't feel it was appropriate to shoot a before and after picture for the blog. Just picture a smiley happy baby with her fat happy legs a-kickin' then picture a squinty-eyed baby with big ole tears mouth wide open and a cute little baby girl cry and frigid tight fat legs. There you have it. I really feel that today might have been worse for me then her. I had some major anxiety before the appt. So I promptly walked across the parking lot to the hospital got into the medication closet and fished out some Versed and popped it right into my vein. I felt much better after. (By the way if anyone out there from my job is reading this, I was totally kidding.) She actually did much better this time. It went a lot quicker, partly because I helped give the shots. I got her on her right leg and the other nurse got her with two on the left. We were done in a jiffy. She cried for about a good 30 seconds. Then she was pretty good the rest of the day...a total difference than last time. She now weighs 12 lbs 12 oz. She also started to laugh a week ago. It is the cutest ever. She laughs at funny things that I wouldn't think would be funny. We love her! She is so fun. I think this Friday we will start her on solids. I'm looking forward to that. We've noticed her staring at our food more often. It will be a great fun mess!

Three Things I Want

So, after reading Mandy's blog it made me start thinking of all the things I would like to own in the near future. I decided to only limit it to three. The first would be the lovely storage containers for cotton balls and q-tips. I would like two of each so that I could put one in my guest bathroom for all the guests we won't get. Also I found this awesome person who make these awesome adornments. I too, fear like Mandy, of letting myself go. This adornment is just one of many. If you would like to venture to her website here it is. The third would be a swim suit from Modbe. I loved the swimming suit that Mandy had on her blog so I ventured to the website and found this little number. I noticed how it would cover my tiger-striped belly and the bread-dough-consistency-of-a-stomach-that-I-fear-I-will-never-part-with. They also have these great swim suit skirts that I could wear over my thunder-thighs and cover up the few hundred pounds that have taken up residence on my, as I say around Claire, "bum-bum."

Another Awesome Baby Website

So, I also came across this website of baby clothes. They are so incredibly cute, but expensive. I can look can't I? It is the Right Bank Babies link to the right. Enjoy!

Sandbox Threads

So, I stumbled upon the most awesome website for buying baby onesies and children's tees. You will notice the link to the right. Here is a little somethin' somethin' from their website. Enjoy the preview. These pictures are just a few of what they put on their clothes.

I'm A Blog Slacker

I know...I know...I haven't posted a blog for about a good ten years now. I would like to say that I have been just too busy being a mom, but really Claire goes to bed at 8 or 9 and she goes to bed so very easy. Not even a fight. So basically I don't even really have an excuse for not posting. I could have said we've just been too busy moving, but we've been moved in for about 3 weeks now and our computer was one of the first things we set up. One of the reasons I haven't posted is because I can't post any of the pictures I want because of various reasons that would be too hard to explain and too boring to read so I will spare you the boring details. So, I decided that I would write a blog about the events in our lives that don't require a picture. And one of those events be very glad that there is no picture. One event is that I went back to work on August 18. :( It was pretty hard. I cried the night before. It was only one glistening tear that fell down my cheek because I found out that if I cry around Claire she looks at me and thinks to herself, "Man, my mom is a basket case." Monday morning came around and I donned my scrubs and headed out the door with my nifty name tag and my stellar stethoscope to go play with Dopplers, speculums, urine, and pregnancy wheels. Doesn't that just sound like fun. I took a picture to work of her to display on my desk for all admirers that stroll past. I found that looking at her picture just made me miss her more. Things are working out pretty well though. Dallin probably gets less sleep than I do. He watches her during the day and then I watch her at night while he goes to work. I basically don't see Dallin until the weekends. I'm starting to forget what he looks like.

Another event is that Claire rolled over yesterday. She did happen to roll over once on like the 28th or 29th of August but I'm not counting that because A. I think she did it on accident and B. Nobody saw it. Yesterday though she did it several times from back to front and front to back. She is getting so big. It is a little sad but oh so exciting to see her change. A couple Sundays ago it was our first Sunday in our new ward. I was sitting in Sunday school holding Claire and I don't know where Dallin was...sluffing or something and Claire was all fidgety and grunting a lot. Now, I know all you experienced moms out there probably already know what her problem is and what is in store for me. Little did I know...all of a sudden I hear her fart and feel it because my hands are underneath her bum. I think to myself, "Oh no" because I know that lately her poops have been really explosive. Either that or her diapers suck...probably the latter. So, I'm afraid to lift her up to see if her onesie has turned brown because one time I did that and it literally dripped all over me and I didn't want that to happen and to have people in my new ward see so I just sat there a moment contemplating on what to do. I moved my hands a little bit and I felt goo. I think to myself, "Oh crap!" Quite literally. I just got up really quick and ran outside to the grass. There was poop EVERYWHERE! It was all over Claire, all over my dress, all over my hands, all over the burp rag...EVERYWHERE! So I proceeded to change her on the lawn which I accomplished with a whole package of baby wipes and two diapers. Then I used another package to clean my dress off. I had to go back into the church with a poopy dress to find Dallin because he had the d*mn keys. I found him and we went straight home. The positive thing is it got me out of church early :) Just kidding mom...sort of.

Anyways this blog is getting way too long and because there are no pictures I'm afraid that people will see how long it is and not read it. So if you have read this far Congratulations! I know you are a true friend.
