Bowling

 We have lived in Salmon for 5 years now and have never been to the bowling alley here. Pretty pathetic, I guess. Needless to say we weren't missing a whole lot, but the kids had fun and it was a first for them.

Frolicking in the Leaves

 While Kate was napping, Claire and I had some quality time with just the two of us running through the leaves. Okay, pretty much Claire ran through and I watched. I don't do so much running these days...or ever! When the pile got demolished I raked them back into a huge pile and she pretended she was a horse and ran through the pile over and over again.

 I love seeing the pure joy in her face!

A Star Wars Halloween

 My sweet little Claire told me that she wanted to be Darth Vador this year for Halloween. I was in complete shock. I never in a million years thought she would want to be something so villainous! So, to go along with the Star Wars theme we had Kate be Yoda. The night these were taken was the night Dallin took them to the ward's Halloween party. The day I took them trick or treating down Main Street was fun but a workout for Mom. I ended up carrying both light sabers, Kate's treat bucket, the darth vador mask, Kate's whole costume, then Kate wanted me to carry her! Let's just say that I was glad to see the car at the end!

McCall, Idaho

 Dallin and I decided it would be fun to take a few days and go to McCall Idaho. We had never been there and heard it was beautiful. And beautiful, it was! There are so many trees, a lake, the town is so charming, and a river. The drive was very long and very curvy, but very beautiful too! Our kids had fun playing near the lake in the sand...even though it was a little chilly.

 Dad took the kids to a candy store while Mom took a nap. Dad's are just great aren't they? They even brought me home some chocolate covered oreos.

First Day of Preschool

My little Claire started preschool. The funny story behind the date on the chalkboard. We all showed up on 8/4/12 for preschool. We get there and find out that preschool actually starts on 8/5/12. Yeah...Claire found out that day that her mom is a moron. I felt so dumb. Her teacher was kind enough to let her stay and play for a couple hours because she knew how excited she was. Claire loves her preschool! We recently caught some ladybug eggs and she took them to show her class. Everyone was so excited and later that day they hatched! I think she has made a lot of friends already. I went to pick her up one day and all the kids were screaming, "Bye Claire!" It made me feel good that she has some friends. I worried a lot about that. I don't know why because she is such a likable girl! But I still did. Kate always misses her sister while she is gone. She follows me around the house and says, "Claire, Claire." She loves her big sister.

Meadow Lake

Our family decided to take a trip to a beautiful lake called Meadow Lake that is located near Gilmore. It is a fun drive up to the lake because you get to drive past old mines, buildings and homes. The lake water is very clear and beautiful.

I took this picture because I originally thought Dallin was just getting the kids set up to fish when low and behold 15 minutes later he was STILL fishing with it. I thought that was pretty funny!
